For photo assignment #4, I chose animals to be the focus of the week. A friend of mine has cats which I could take pictures of. An issue I had was having the cats stay still or look at the camera. I learnt that a lot of respect is due to the people that make a living off taking pictures of animals because it is a tough job. I enhanced the shadows for this picture and lowered the whites to make the picture pop. I chose this picture as the best because I like how it makes mysterious the cat.

For the School Context assignment, I changed an ordinary picture of a hallway into a dystopian future school hallways, where things like octopus and Big Bird terrorize the halls. It proved challenging at many times because I am so new in the Mac world and photoshop but I managed to resolve many issues.
For this weeks photo assignment #3, I was sick the week of, so I was unable to get out of the house and for turn-in I was sick also. The pictures I attempted to take for Macro within my house, I was unhappy with. I decided to look through old projects and find strong pictures to change to black and white. I learnt how to make images black and white in camera raw by lowering the saturation. For this photo, I lowered the vibrance, saturation, and temperature to make this a black and white image. But in doing so, I lost some of the topography of the globe, so I increased the contrast.
For the second photoshop assignment, we had the task of retouching a past students picture of a car, which they took at the auto show. I removed some of the light reflections on the hood, removed the background so it would not take the attention away from the car.
I chose still life for this week's photo assignment because I was stuck in the house most of the week. I found an array objects in my house, like the weird owl figure, I also used color pencils and shower jelly as my subjects. I learnt that lighting has a huge effect on how the picture turns out and also how the subject is perceived by the camera. I made the image a little lighter by increasing the blacks because I was losing the part of the owl that was in the shadow. I also clarified the image to make it pop. I used the paintbrush tool in camera raw because there were some fleck of dust on the black background.
For the first photo assignment, my subject was food. Some of my pictures were action shots of my dad making Stroganoff for dinner. I found it hard to have a clear background for those shots. I also took pictures of a smoothie and some desserts. I learnt that shining lights on some food, especially frozen foods, they can start to melt, which I experienced in some pictures. To make the color pop more, I made the temperature +2, the tint +3, the exposure +0.65, The contrast +47, and the highlights -77. The edits that had the biggest effect were the increase of contrast and the decrease of highlights.
In this assignment, I used an old selfie from the beginning of the trimester and changed the hues and saturation to four different colors. This imitates Andy Warhol's Pop Art images of famous people or inanimate objects, like soup cans. This was my first time in photoshop, and I was really impressed how easy to understand it was. I did not expect myself to figure it out so easily and I am proud I did. As stated earlier, this was my first time in photoshop, so I everything we did was new to me. I learned everything from layering images to resizing the canvas. I thought Lightroom was really interesting and I'm excited to see what else I learn.
Assignment Description:The aim of this assignment was to take picture of 11 different elements of composition. Composition is how we "frame" photograph. The elements that were used were: rule of thirds, pattern, symmetry, texture, depth of field, lines, framing, perspective, space, balance, and colour. What I Learned:In this assignment I learned everything from basic working of a camera to moving pictures from Adobe Bridge into the Blog. I also learned all the different compositions of photographs and what to look for within the composition.
I am interested in swimming and water polo, I play for the highschool team for both sports. There are six people in my family, I have two sisters and one brother. My older sister, Lauren, is 23, my older brother, Rob, is 21, and my younger sister, Annabelle, is 9. I also have a dog named Bubbles. In my freetime I like to read and hopefully, in the future, a hobby could be photography. I took this class because I have always thought that photography was really cool skill to have and very interesting. The only exposure to photography that I have is when I take pictures on my iPhone that usualy is not focused and has a thumb in the corner of the frame.
