After a year of using none of my photography skills, I am returning to a digital photography class. Being in this class so far has made me realize how much I have forgotten. I hope to relearn the skills I had from digital photography 1 and to not be terrible at photography. I am overall excited for this class and can't wait to further my learning. I personally like taking pictures of animals, natures, and architecture. I also have forgotten a lot of my skills from photoshop, so I need to touch up on them.

Walking into this class, I had zero camera experience besides my iPhone. It was all very nerve-wracking. Each new lesson was eye-opening and simple lessons, like components of a camera or how to work a Mac were extremely helpful and useful. With it being my first time behind a camera, the first pictures I took were quite rough since Iwaa just learning the ropes. Here is examples of thenkt-so-good. As well as my first time behind a camera, it was also my first time on Camera Raw and Adobe Photoshop. I found it very easy to pick up on and the instructions were helpful. My favourite photoshop assignments are below. Best pics
I adjusted the shutter speed on my camera and learned how to pan. It was hard to follow the subject at times or I forgot to pan with the subject.
In this assignment I learnt how to use layers in photoshop to make "multiple me" in the picture. I also changed the image to black and white by adding a black and white layer but went through and erased the filter on my blue sweatshirt to make it stand out.
This final week I went on a nature walk. An issue I had was that since it is February, there is not a lot of nature that looks very exciting and alive. There were puddles from which I got some cool reflection shots and I was also able to focus on the texture of the trees. For this photo I decreased the whites to darken the background and bring more attention to the texture of the bark. I also increased the saturation to make the picture warmer and less of a neutral colour.
In this assignment I learned how light affects the subjects in portraits. It was interesting to see how laminated paper reflected the window light on the subject. It was also fun to put my skills to the test in photoshop.
For this photo assignment I did light painting. Tried outlines of people, outlining objects, and creating patterns. In some of the pictures I had an issue of me showing up in the background because I was wearing a green shirt but I resolved the issue. To enhance the photo, I increased the shadows to make the light appear lighter and I changed the white light to a blue one because it looked different. I also used the stamp tool to make my face disappear from the background.
I attempted Macro again this week but an issue I had was my hand shaking the last time I tried. This time I went to Walmart and bought a tripod so the pictures taken would be less blurry. I focused on flowers as my subject because they looked really cool up close and some have a texture to them I did not know was there. While taking pictures I shown a flashlight so I could move around the light source. For this image, I lowered the shadows and increased the vibrance and clarity.
For the fifth photoshop assignment, it was up to us to choose what type of photoshop assignment we'd do. After looking, I found how to create a double exposure effect. I went onto google images, and searched for a bird and a scenic background.

For the panoramic assignment I went to different locations around the school and took a series of photos. I merged the photos of the same scene into one to make a panorama. This was a really interesting assignment because it was all new for me and I've never thought about the process of panorama until this assignment.
